On 4 June 2026, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine adopted Resolution No. 708 amending Resolutions No. 374 and No. 94.
What is changing?
According to the Ministry of Economy, 10 categories are being removed from the list of measuring instruments subject to mandatory periodic verification. A further nine categories are being removed from the annex to the Technical Regulation on legally regulated measuring instruments. The names of 12 categories and the application scope of another 11 are also being clarified.
Which instruments are affected?
The changes concern, among other things, certain instruments used to measure electrical parameters and noise levels, as well as conditions for the storage and transportation of food products and medicines.
Category No. 18, covering measuring instruments for a range of electrical parameters, is also being revised. Smart electricity meters remain a separate category.
When will the changes apply?
Resolution No. 708 takes effect six months after its publication. Ukraine's official legislation database already indicates a future version of Resolution No. 374 effective from 10 December 2026.
What should businesses do?
Manufacturers, suppliers, laboratories and businesses using measuring instruments should check whether the regulatory status of their instruments has changed. Removal from the periodic verification list should not automatically be interpreted as removal of every metrological or technical requirement.
