CMU Resolution №1067 of 16.12.2015 · Based on EU Directive 2014/35/EU

Low Voltage Directive in Ukraine (LVD)

Applies to electrical equipment designed for use at 50–1000 V AC or 75–1500 V DC. Compliance is demonstrated through a self-issued Declaration of Conformity (Module A) — no notified body required.

Scope of Application

The regulation covers any electrical equipment designed for use at a rated voltage of:

Alternating Current (AC)
from 50 V to 1,000 V
Direct Current (DC)
from 75 V to 1,500 V

Standard mains voltage of 220 V / 380 V falls within the regulation's scope. This is the broadest technical regulation in Ukraine's electrical safety framework.

Typical Products Covered

Household Appliances
Refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers, ovens, vacuum cleaners, irons, hair dryers, coffee makers, air conditioners, heaters
Power Tools
Drills, rotary hammers, angle grinders, circular saws, sanders, welding equipment (within the voltage range)
Lighting
LED luminaires 220 V, fluorescent lamps and fixtures, floodlights, street lighting 220–400 V
Industrial Equipment
Electric motors up to 1,000 V, transformers, switchboards, circuit breakers, RCDs, frequency inverters, UPS, EV charging stations
IT & Office Equipment
Computers, laptops (power supplies), printers, scanners, multifunction devices, network equipment, uninterruptible power supplies
Power Components
Power strips, extension leads (except household plugs), chargers, power supplies, voltage converters

Exclusions

The following are excluded from the regulation's scope (Annex 1 to CMU Resolution №1067):

Conformity Assessment — Module A

Ukraine LVD provides a single conformity assessment procedure — Module A (internal production control). This means:

No Notified Body
No third-party conformity assessment body is involved. The manufacturer acts independently.
Technical Documentation
The manufacturer compiles a technical file and keeps it for 10 years after the last unit is placed on the market.
Declaration of Conformity
The manufacturer signs the declaration and affixes the conformity marking to the product.

FAQ

Is a certificate required or is a declaration sufficient?

For electrical equipment covered by Ukraine LVD, only Module A applies — a manufacturer's self-declaration without a notified body. A certificate of conformity under this regulation is not required.

What is the validity period of the declaration?

Ukrainian legislation does not impose a mandatory expiry date on declarations of conformity. The declaration remains valid for the full production and market period of the product.

What documents are needed?

Minimum: manufacturer details (name, address, signatory), product description and technical specifications, list of applied standards. Test reports if available.

Can one declaration cover multiple regulations?

Yes. If a product falls under LVD, EMC and RoHS simultaneously, a single combined declaration covering all three regulations is standard practice.
